The Maharashtra and Goa governments are working together on a massive project to connect Mumbai and Goa via a coastal road that will run parallel to the Mumbai-Goa NH 17. Maximum of this route will be via Seaside parallel coastline Panvel – Alibaug – Kashid – Harihareshwar – Kelshi – Dapoli – Dabhol – Guhagar – Ganpatipule – Ratnagiri – Devgad – Malvan – Tircol – Goa
The Mumbai Trans Harbour Link will be 22 kilometres long, reducing the distance between Mumbai and Panvel by 15 kilometres. It is also planned to connect the Mumbai – Goa Highway, reducing the distance by another 6 kilometres and resulting in a less congested route. As a result of the 21 km reduction in distance, the travel time is reduced by approximately 1 hour. This is a genuine opportunity for tourism development along the nearest coast destination Kelshi.
A panoramic seaside locale, Kelshi connects the presidencies of Raigad to Ratnagiri through the Harihareswar – Bankot bridge, which will eventually reduce travel time from Pune & Mumbai.
Located off the beachfront in the sunny Ratnagiri district, Kelshi lies in close proximity to Dapoli and Khed, lying 32 km and 60 km away from the towns, respectively. Home to a strategic infrastructure, Kelshi melds contemporary facilities with tranquility for an unhindered living experience.
The existing two-lane Pune to Mangaon Road from Tamhini Ghat will be upgraded to a four-lane tar road. Tamhini Ghat is getting a tunnel section, which will reduce travel time by 24 kilometres. Kelshi will be a 2.5-hour drive from Pune and Mumbai after this development and others that will take place in the near future.
